Is there a page that lists the starting skill points for each position during player creation? According to the F.A.Q. this varies by position.

Where in the FAQ are you reading?

Do you mean the variations in the 'base' build? You should start with 23 points to assign to your 'base' build. From there every dot starts with 15 SPs.

Rome... he might mean how the BASE skill points are assigned per position. (Like Strength is 10, Agility is 10, speed is 10... ect.)
If so, he should be told that those numbers change when you adjust the height and weight of a player (up to +2 to -2 in 2 skills).

Pretty sure there's a couple of positions that start with a different number of "base" SPs to assign.

Yeah, I didn't know the term... 'base build' points were what I was talking about. QB gets 21 points, WR, and OL get 23. Don't know about the rest.

Play around with different positions in the VPB, and you'll see that different positions start with different amounts of "base" SPs. Kicker and Punter in particular are two I can think of off the top of my head, but there are others that I just can't remember.

Or heck, if you don't trust the VPB, just create a few new Level 1 players at different positions to see for yourself, and then retire them for full refunds when you're done.

And it's relevant because it will affect your early build plan. A couple of extra or missing SPs to start with can make a HUGE difference in the timing of hitting caps, which in turn affects other things. So, it's absolutely relevant and quite important, actually.

To the OP, there's no chart that lists out the info you're looking for, but just use the Virtual Player Builder script in GreaseMonkey and it'll give you the info you need.

One thing I'd DEFINITELY disagree on... I used to be in the camp of going with minimum or maximum height and/or weight, but I've since learned that it often helps your early capping if you go one notch back from the minimum or maximum.

Again, though, nothing beats just running your build plan through the Virtual Player Builder and seeing what happens. No build guide from anyone is ever gonna be perfect. Someone's build guide can certainly help you make your own, but unless you're trying to make an exact carbon-copy of someone else's dot, someone else's guide is never going to be ideal for what you're trying to build yourself. You're gonna have to make changes somewhere in their plan. And to do that, you're just gonna need to play with the VPB.

Ok, I give up. How can I request more information without people withholding it and/or insulting me and/or misinterpreting me? I'm trying my effing best here to be as neutral as possible and just inquire. What else do I need to do ?

I am asking for proof that it matters, because according to my calculations, it does not. So if in your calculations, it matters, I'd like to see why our points of view are different and attempt to learn something from it. Even if all I have to learn is that I'm right. I (and everyone else) can't be sure unless I express myself, because if I don't express myself, my ignorance is the only certainty, even if it is ignorance that I'm right.

Makes sense now?
