i believe they are worn and active immediately on your eq page?
and the mvp eq should be active for all of next season. i don't know if you qualify for additional midseason endorsements, though. i don't remember getting them on my (very few) mvp's.

My understanding is that Kicker MVP was a bad thing because it reduced the number of endorsements you could get or that not all of your endorsements could be active or something.
