re: boosting to level 79 and the chart on the bottom

* do you still need to boost to lvl-4 before rollover in order to reach lvl-79?

* on the chart i saw, it takes 30 boosts to reach lvl-79. since a season is approximately 40 days (3 boosts a season) and a dot reaches plateau in 280, that gives you approximately 21 boosts. what i do not know is how many levels a dot will gain just on XP. in other words if i do not boost before rollover, but boost at the end of every season thereafter, what level will i be at day280?

30 boosts - Level 79
29 boosts - Level 78
28 boosts - Level 77
27 boosts - Level 76
26 boosts - Level 75
25 boosts - Level 74
24 boosts - Level 73
23 boosts - Level 72
22 boosts - Level 71
21 boosts - Level 70
20 boosts - Level 69
19 boosts - Level 68
18 boosts - Level 67
17 boosts - Level 66
16 boosts - Level 65
15 boosts - Level 64
14 boosts - Level 63
13 boosts - Level 62
12 boosts - Level 61
11 boosts and under - Level 60

No. You can reach level 79 even if you dont boost from 1-4 in creation season.

so the player would just be a few levels behind others until near 280, then just boost up to 79? isn't there a limit to 3 boosts a season?

There is a limit or 3 a season, but once he hits 281, he'll get the boosts required to reach 79. I've had as many as 6 boosts at once at that time (3 for his final season and the 3 "bonus" boosts to hit 79).

The only question I would ponder (if ever asked/answered) would be how it effects level gains and the overall endbuild. If it was a smart move, I suspect every great builder would be doing that. Since they don't, I suspect someone with too much time on their hands crunched the numbers and decided boosting early is best.... so that's where everybody goes.

Boosting from 1 to 4 keeps you on pace with everyone else and gets you a few more VA's. Not boosting from 1 to 4 gets you a few more skill points thru training but lose a few VA's. Not gonna help or hurt your build either way. I just dont want to be 3 levels behind everyone else for my whole career. Especially for those big playoff games where everyone gets level 32 equipment or level 40 equipment and so on and you dont because you are 3 levels behind.

thanks, theo. yes, this is true, but i think i read that at 281, 6 boosts is the max you will get. therefore, that means you have to be at least lvl-73 to hit 79. if you are lvl-68, it's not going to allow you 11 boosts to reach 79.

the thing i couldn't figure out is if i DO NOT boost from 1-4, but pretty much boost every season thereafter, will i reach 73 by day 281. i wish there were some type of seek bar i could just raise/lower to see this, but that's why i asked the question.

thanks, whodey. those are some factors to keep in mind.

Since this is what smacked 4 of my dots when they changed they system to it's current method, yes. I fully believe that 6 is the most you can get. All 4 of those dots had to be retired because they couldn't reach 79.
