Which percent thing should I get to help my guy in man to man coverage? I know 5% but like which type?

A lot of CBs in today's sim are benefiting from +% intercept chance and some catching (most in the 48-60 range) as well.
On a 3 AEQ build I'd be tempted to go:
+5% deflect
+x% avoid fake
+x% intercept chance
And then use your CEQ as a +% deflect (bringing you up to +21% deflect chance).

Thanks. Also, when should you typically start to shop and buy? Lv.41 or Lv. 51?

51 did not work well for me. Too many AE that had both modifiers but were not ideal. I like 41, and am going to try 61 once we roll over to next season.

Deflect Ball chance and the Avoid Fake piece.
Many CBs add a 2nd DB% piece as well.
That's how I go. CEQ in either make tackle or intercept % , depending on the build.

Start at lvl 31, but only roll a max of 3X . If you don't find anything that is what you are looking for, wait till lvl 41 and roll a few more times.
By lvl 51 you could roll 4 times...level 61 4 or 5 times. You don't have what you need by then be prepared to build.
And never settle for anything less than perfect. If you plan to go speed with EQ, only shop/buy +3 speed pieces. And only shop/buy for 5% pieces, don't settle for 3%. You can always add to a piece that only has half what you are looking for (attribute/%)
And just for info sake, should start consider going light train around age 156-164ish to ensure you have the needed BT's.

Shopping at level 31 for CB is ok
You tend to get a good amount of +3% pieces with the rare +5%. Personally I'd hold a little longer at CB.

I'd highly recommend against this. It's best to get your AEQ sorted out so that you can then calculate exactly when you need to switch to light.
This maximizes the time you can spend multi-training and minimizes the end-build "waste" (BTs that they just cash in for SPs) that some agents are left with. I typically multi-train much longer than until day 156-164ish.

You highly recommend NOT CONSIDERING switching at age 156-164?
That's the best time to start considering when you need to do it. Best time to see where your AEQ is currently at and how many you will need to complete your goals (be that 3 or 4 pieces)
Wait till age 200 and you could fall a few BT short. Start planning ahead and this don't happen

For clarity, I posted you should start considering your switch, I did not say that is when you make the switch.
My bad if I made it unclear on my advice. Posting from phone I tend to leave things short

Sorry, I read it as "you should consider going light train around age 156..." with it implied that was the optimal time to switch.

Not sure I'd dare build any defensive dot without MT%. I guess a CB with minimum weight could be the exception to that rule, but still risky.

No it's definitely my bad, I should have added "when to"
I tend to post short from phone, is tough enough as it is with fat fingers.
Should have written "Should start to consider when going to light train around age 156-164ish to ensure that you will have the needed BT's to complete your AEQ goals"
Lol, just typing that I had to go back and fix words like 5 times because of fat thumbs and auto correct.
