Day 42 always seems to fall on Monday, which seems to me the worst possible day for it to happen. I always work Monday through Friday and usually Saturday as well but the weekend is when I would expect most people would have the most free time to deal with the chaos of Day 42. I have plans for what I'd like to do and I could get much accomplished Sunday when I'm not working but there is the freeze until the next day when I'll have no free time. I understand that some people play the game while they're "working", but I think that this would be best for the majority of people.
