When creating a custom play, if you have 2 LB covering 1 HB to weak or strong side, will the other LB continue to cover the HB?
For example, If I have a nickle defense going against the spread 4WR offense and I have the MLB and LOLB cover the Hb, one cover weak and the other strong, will the LOLB still cover the HB if he goes out to the Weak side?

If you have them set to Cover Man - HB Strong or Cover Man - HB Weak, they will only cover the HB if they go to that side. If you want them to cover the HB regardless of the direction of the route, just use Cover Man - HB.

Then my next question is, does the game acknowledge Strong and weak side if there is no TE?

Yes, for GLB, Weak = Left and Strong = Right, in all cases.
