How do you get promoted into natty pro's? Finalist? Championship?
Forum > FAQ's, Player Guides and Newbie Help > Regional Pro promotion system?
Oh well I was thinking of teams in Elite 1 or 2...maybe the competitive league teams need to reach the CC game at least?
I know for fact (1st hand on 2 occasions since contraction ) that teams in elite win a playoff game they promote to NattyPro

There will be teams from Regional Pro Competitive that make it, usually those who make it to the LCG and possibly the CCG. It really depends on how many pro level-playoff teams/demoting WL teams drop back to rookie (or any other level).

It's pretty much what's wrong with the minors (non-boosters in elite).
By the time you reach Regional Pro you don't really see non-boosters in Elite, do you (I don't recall since its been a while since I worked back up that way)? Regardless, the Competitive leagues are usually pretty top-heavy with 4-5 teams in each conference who could do well in Elite and at least a couple who would be tough competition. I don't see non-boosters winning a Competitive league (probably outside the playoffs) once you get past Prep.
Of course, I haven't kept an eye on promotions to National Pro since league contraction and that may have significantly changed things.

Promoting non-elite teams is crazy.
So you're saying this team http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=5879 is significantly better than this team http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=174 ?
EDIT - I don't know either team, but I would bet that Quebec was in Semi-Pro in season 32 and CultDawgz were in Semi-Pro Elite.

14 wins in elite > 16 wins in comp. In 5 games the team in comp scored 255+ points. Clear indication that comp league is pretty weak.
Granted, making the playoffs in comp is easier. Winning in round 2, the CCG, and LCG is similar. The winner of the LCG in comp deserves to be in National Pro more than a team that loses in round 1 or 2 in Elite.

based off of last season, just making CCG for sure gets you in for comp, dont think you can get to pro from regular and losing round 2 you have a slim chance of making pro
This one might make a stronger case - http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=956 Has wins over at least one playoff Nat Pro team.
The problem with the current system is that a 9th place Nat Pro team likely demotes to Regional Pro Comp instead of Elite. One game makes the difference between staying in Nat Pro and going to a Comp Reg Pro league. Plus Semi Pro Elite playoff teams promote directly to Regional Pro Elite. That means half the teams in Regional Pro Elite are not even level 79 when they promote.
If the Regional Pro system worked better, I would agree with Dub J, but as it stands, it does not work great, IMO.

3 out of the final 4 teams in the regional pro tourney are from a competitive league
