When a VA or something similar says it gives a 2% boost to something... does it take what was a 10% chance of something happening and make it then 12% or does it increase the 10% chance by 2% making it then 10.2% chance? Never was quite clear on how those bonuses really work as it isn't 100% clear the way they are worded. Big difference when its 2% per level, at level 15 your 10% chance is then a 40% chance, the other way it only goes from 10% to 13%.

Should be multiplication.

YAC Attack would be nuts if it was added.

The answer is in the FAQ? Did anybody ever write the FAQ? This question has been asked many times, yet I cannot find the answer. There is an FAQ section but there is no FAQ document.

They are multiplicative. If you have a 50% chance to do something, and an ability gives you a +10% bonus, you now have a 55% chance to do that thing.

Neither.

It modifies your roll not your "chance to do something".

If your roll can be between 50 and 80, and you need 100 to "win", you have a 0% chance. If you have +100% to that roll, you can roll between 100 and 160, giving you 100% chance.

You can throw all kinds of numbers in for varying levels of effect, but it doesn't directly modify your percentage chance to do something.

Or, a less extreme example.

Need 100 to "win" the roll, and can roll between 80 and 110

Base chance: 33.3%

15% bonus to your roll, means you can roll between 92 and 126

New chance: 76%

This is a good example if the number required to "win" the roll is static, but many of the most important rolls are not.

It still works the same way regardless of the counter roll is static or not.
