Honest to god, whats the deal anymore.... I have really enjoyed this little escape for the last 4+ years, but when I 1st started to wonder WTF was going on I check the site value and it said $759,745.00.

Now it says $172,765.00.... Good grief..... Bort stop locking threads that ask if you like Big Macs or the Whopper, if you are chumping us all to the ground. I have spent thousands on this game, (dontjudgeme) and I get no information on the future, besides we are lolstrong

I demand more for my money, or I will take it elsewhere.

Come on Loon....

First how are those numbers calculated? Looked at website, no explanation of formula. I assume it's based on site visits, which is actually pretty high, and any sort of revenue generated (assumed or otherwise) from those visits due to ads or something similar (again assumed or otherwise).

Site is certainly generating more than $137 a day, in actual revenue, not assumed revenue based on visits.

BP, I have known you on this game for along time, we have spent allot of time together. You have to admit (your title which I fully support you having or not) the game is down. I so wish it was not, but it is.

Site visits only matter in RONA if they seal advertising.

For what it's worth, I checked the value of the Website for the company I work for. The value is $872, while their actual net revenue last year exceeded $4 million conservatively. So, zero weight should be put in that website when basing the value of a business.

Ok, I can roll with that.... explain why a post like this has just me and you chatting in it for the last 30 minutes, with no other trolling? Seems like we may be the only two left that care.

No doubt, we go back for sure. Still hope to have our team in couple more seasons. For sure visits are down, interest has waned, don't thing anybody would argue that. Bort and Co are busy with other projects, that will pump some new life into the userbase by way of new games/ideas. Which may in turn pump new life into GLB. Have some faith man!

I care...

oh wait.

Not really.

Long as game is here I will play. If not, then won't.

What it may be worth is not something I much care about other than what it is worth to me.

Guess time will tell.

Well, hopefully no trolling, because that would ruin a good discussion. Forums are definitely down, but that doesn't mean turning every forum into the Wild Wild West.

I locked the Burger King / Donuts thread because they broke the rules for this specific forum, not GLB overall. Admins are pretty lax with Forums in my opinion, but you have know where to post if you want less moderation.

Plus I think we are the only ones, because everybody else had the good sense to go to bed.

For the record I choose Burger King, even if it breaks the rules.

Ha... I'm kinda of a McD's guy, mostly cause I'm cheap and $1 Menu and $1 any size drink.

Now back to topic on hand.

I remember at our peak, someone saw we were worth 50k on some website similar to that and offered to purchase it from Bort, via support. It gave us some good entertainment in the admin forums.

I'm not sure what everyone expects out of Bort and Co? We can all agree that after five years of DotBall'n, we have seen a decline in customers and forum activity. It is concerning for us, as it is for you.

Do you think we are just going to throw are hands up in the air and give up? "Well that was a good run, unemployment sounds kinda fun!" Naaaaw screw that...we all love this gig and we are pushing each other for new releases.

Just an FYI, we still have plenty of active customers. Nothing is new, nothing is exciting, so It's the same ol', same ol', for most of us. Log in, do your thing, make a couple posts, log out. If we go back and look at the history of GLB's most popular threads, I can guarantee that almost all revolved around some sort of drama. Without that drama, it looks like a wasteland, when really it's not.

We will survive and hopefully you all will enjoy our new games as much as you have enjoyed GLB.

XOXO

IN AFTER LOCK BOOYA

One other thing to add to what Pallow said. That site that determines value for a website is basing it on user traffic and the advertising revenue it could generate. GLB doesn't make its money from ad revenue, we make it from consumer purchases. Considering we have 10+ employees, I can assure you that our worth is well in excess of 172K.

But yea, what Pallow said. He summed it up well.
