I like to use preset depth charts and leave my regular DC generic. The regular DC keeps changing its self to the preset I use the most. It is annoying because there seems to be no point of using a preset if their is no element of secrecy. Am I doing something wrong or maybe I missed something?

When you create a preset depth chart and save it. you need to reload your "generic" depth chart after that.

Whatever depth chart you work on last is the one that is going to be that shown. So again, edit your preset depth chart, save it, then load in the generic one you want to show.

So if I Save a new Preset using the Preset Save button it ALSO updates the default Depth Chart???????????????????

It doesn't do that if I save in the Preset Editing of an existing preset though, right?

The depth chart page you work on is the "Workspace" where all depth charts are edited. It has nothing to do with saving it, it has to do with what is loaded.

For example:

You click auto-reorder and that is your current default depth. Lets say you then save that as General1. If you then edit it to put 15 QB's in, and save it as GoofyQB1 Preset, it doesn't revert to General1 after you save, it still has the GoofyQB1 setup. If you load General1, you are back to the auto-reorder version you first saved.

So any time you work on your depth chart and you want to keep a default version, you have to save what you have, load in the new depth you want and save it as a new name. Then re-load the default depth chart you want everyone else to see.

There is no depth chart editor with it's own workspace, you are working with the live depth chart.

I think alindyl is wrong on this one.

There was, at one point, a bug that would overwrite the default depth chart when updating a preset but that was fixed. I just tested this on my team...

If you're creating a new preset from the default it shouldn't affect the default unless you click Update. If you're updating a preset, it should have no effect on your default.

That is the bug fix I referenced. It actually updated the default with the preset simply by viewing the preset.

Could it be your OC/owner/whoever also likes to use preset depth charts, and when he goes to make a change, he's loading in a depth chart with your old chart? Make sure you're the only one using presets.

I think every time I changed to a preset on my tactics calendar for a new scrim or tourney game it would set the preset DC as my default DC.

I can't see that as being the case either. I just set the tactics calendar for my game today and my default didn't change.

There have been reports that re-signing a player (or players) will change the default depth chart. I have seen video of it happening, but so far we've been unable to reproduce it on any environment other than the bug reporters. Have you been having players re-sign contracts recently?

No, it's happening in peewee.

I just checked my default DC and it changed to the preset once again. Yesterday I removed all players from the custom slots and today they are all back. Only thing I did with that team was accept a friendly.

Is it possible someone else is editing the preset and hitting Apply Preset once they are done?

Yeah. That's the bug I referenced. Not sure where its going at this point but I'm trying.

I believe a while ago Bort created a script to redo the depth chart on CPU teams so when your player signed with them their position on the depth chart would reorganize itself. Not sure if that is bleeding over to regular teams now or not.

After our league game today my Preset DC was once again loaded as my default. I am certain it has to be the tactics calendar changing the default depth chart. Only my DC has access to the Depth chart and he would have no reason to touch it. I don't think I could manually change it exactly the same everytime let alone someone who is less familiar with our offensive personel.

We have been dealing with this all season long on our pro casual team. My DE would disappear off the default depth chart but would always play in games because he used presets. He would put my DE back on the depth chart but the moment he he saved a preset I would disappear off the default depth chart again.
