In recent weeks the mods as a whole on this site have come into question often for wildly inconsistent, touchy, or incompetent modding. I say as a whole because of the questionable anonymity given to the mod(s?) who may ban any given player for any given offense, not that all or even most of the mods are responsible.

I have a solution to this which I hope is amenable to both the posters and mods/admins alike; have a league of legends type system where a ban or discipline hearing is open to mods, admins, and posters/users/agents in good standing. This would produce a speedier, less biased, overall more equal system to determine what if any discipline is required for any number of infractions from posting to multiple accounts to 'gaming' the system.

In spirit of the 6th amendment, aside from the 'jury of your peers' and 'speedy process' bit, this would also be transparent. The mod/admin who brought up the issue and/or reporting party would be known to the reported party. I'd suggest a private message format for that, with a special provision that publicizing the mod/reporter would be an infraction in itself, just so no one is unnecessarily targeted and/or retaliated against.

Thoughts? I put a fair bit of thought and effort into this, and I consider it a serious suggestion and I would like honest feedback from users and mods/admins alike.

The anonymous banning and the kangaroo court appeal that follows is a joke. I support any system that adds transparency to the process.

LoL doesn't do that for every forum suspension.

Nice try though.

If you are suggesting that for banning people from the entire game, then sure, why not.

I didnt say they did.

I said we should have a suspension and review system for all infractions similar to the system LoL has in place as far as peer review, speedy handling, and transparency goes, if you'd read the entire post.

Yeah...setting up a court case and jury for every forum suspension sounds like a ridiculous nightmare and pretty fucking stupid. People need to grow up if they want a trial for a 2-3 suspension from posting in a browser based football simulation MMO.

As far as permanently banning people from the game, I guess it makes sense, in the case of "pushing forum rules continually", not for stuff like multi accounting etc.

Please stop spamming my thread without reading the OP. It is an open case for anyone to view and mods/admins/posters in good standing judging and commenting on suspensions/issues. It is not a set court case with a jury.

Sorry, my bad, not a court case, a "discipline hearing" to determine if they should be suspended or not.

You are either trolling or just being an idiot. In either case, please stop spamming my thread.

And the thing regards multi accounts is quite clearly out of the discussion. Admins can't just go throwing around people's emails and IP addresses as "proof" to the userbase.

Gaming the system...maybe?

Did you even read what you typed or did you copypaste it from some forum?

Maybe you are confused what a disciplinary hearing is, and/or just chose the wrong words for your post?

It wouldnt have to be explicitly stated that the IP is 1.992.4.5.whatever, it could say "These 2 accounts share an IP and/or an email"

Gaming the system would be perfect for this system, it is not a black an white issue that 1 mod/admin should preside over. Someone, mod or user, would in the ticket/case/whatever you want to call it say why they believe _____ was gaming the system to get around promotion rules, etc. That person could argue it, or accept it. If they argue it, they could say why they shouldnt be banned, or why they believe they did not break the rules.

The entire system would ideally look like a forum, with each ticket resembling a thread, with open posting for mods, the reporter, the reported, and others to weigh in.
