If I want to kick a 50yard Field goal do I put 50 in the box or do I put 33 + 17yards from LOS would be 50yard field goals?
Just want to increase distance just not sure if whole distance goes in box or ball spot.

Bad info was bad and has been removed. I haven't done offense in forever and gave VERY bad info.

It is based on ball spot. For a 50 yard FG you would put 33. Don't leave it blank because "auto" will try some crazy long FGs.

This is incorrect. If you want to kick a 50yd FG than you enter 50 in the FG box. That just means that it will kick when the ball is at the 33 or closer. You don't enter 33 if you want to kick a 50yd FG.

Whodey is correct.

If you're using the Max Field Goal Range box, you have to enter the distance the kick will travel. A 50-yard FG will be attempted when the line of scrimmage is at the 33... 33 yards between the goalline and the scrimmage line, plus 10 yards for the end zone, plus 7 yards for the distance between the scrimmage line and the Place Holder.

HOWEVER...

I have learned to be VERY mis-trustful of that Max Field Goal Range box over time... too many instances of buggy behavior associated with relying on that box for your field goal range.

So, my preference is to just use the Ball Spot fields in my AI Inputs. The downside is that you can only set your FG range in 5-yard chunks, of course, but there's really no that much difference between a 50-yard attempt and a 52-yard attempt. So, I just set my AI so that it will attempt FGs on 4th down anywhere inside the opponent's 52-yard-line (with the usual exceptions for 4th & short situations, etc.) Works a lot better for me.

we went through this a few weeks ago in this forum where i confused the fuck out of everyone because i kept saying box.

for that box at the top, you put what you want to kick. put 40 for a 40 yarder, 30 for a 30 yarder etc.
if you do it inside of an input, you put 33 for a 50 yarder, 20 for a 37 yarder, etc.

I don't care if people see it, I just didn't want someone to see it from someone with a "title" and quit reading assuming it was right.
