I know it's against all that is holy to make a thread about locked threads and all... but a mod locked a thread and his last post in it was bad IMO

That is bad info.

GLB can be joined ANY day of ANY season. GLB gives FREE players now. Yes, there is an 8 day window to create and boost for a dot you want to hope to keep competitive throughout career. But let's be serious here, ain't no new player joining and building their first player good enough to make WL.

Plus, 6 plateau boost and retroactive training points mean a 16 day window to create dots that could compete AT plateau (just might play a couple levels behind for most of minors career)

Back to the point of FREE players. You join 3 days from now, get a free dot... boost them and destroy build (whatever) you can retire and make a new with all the things learned and it does not cost you a single penny.

There is no bad time to join the game. However if you build dot's on the 5th Friday of a month you are asking for trouble

that does not change the fact that he ended the thread with bad info, and poor wording for a game he "works" for.

I don't have an issue with new users creating dots during the season as most of them will need to be retired anyway. I do wish there was a disclaimer alerting new users to consider holding off on boosting or buying CE until they've done some research on player building. I know for obvious reasons this won't happen but meh.

Could't GLB simply insert a message that says something like "blah blah blah". Blah blah blah being a short paragraph explaining that day 40-48 is the optimal time to create a new dot and briefly explain why. With a simply click yes if youv read it option (that can be turned off by un-checking a little box). This way new players will at least have some kind of idea what is going on. This message would appear during the create a dot process.

that's not necessary, everyone eventually discovers the best time to build just like most eventually learn the better ways to go about building dots.

what the game does not need is bad advertising from within
