I see a ton of teams
http://goallineblitz.com/game/roster.pl?team_id=5193
Not just this one with like 7-8 Guards or 6-7 OT's etc. WTF why would one team need so many? I can not even fill my team with 1 per position yet people still sign there players to be backups on teams with 6-7 offensive linemen all ready?

Special team players maybe. Agents probably planned it that way. Send a PM to the teams owner and ask.

What you're missing is that many of those are special teams only players (AKA STOPs). They don't play offensive line, they play coverage and return special teams.

Aside from the fact that those guards are the special teams archetype, the dead giveaway is that all of them were created by the team's owner (which is fairly common for STOPs).

Which is why there is a draft or every player would choose IE. Patriots, or Green Bay every year they came out of college. Perhaps we need a draft.

So that way players can be forced to play on your shitty team?

No thanks.

Or perhaps you need to learn how to recruit.

This. If you win, you will find it easy to get Agents who will be loyal to your team and others who will be willing to join your team. If you are new to the game.

Sometimes, if you want to be an owner of a good team, the best thing to do is to work it from the inside out.

1st Find a good team with good active ownership and a good system.

2nd Involve yourself with that team. Comitt your flex and your active nature there. If you aren't a good builder, you may not be able to contribute dots right away; but good teams will have guys that can help you learn how to build great dots. And many of these teams and guys are just itching for active agents who want to contribute to their sucess and learn.

3rd Work with these guys. Most teams, even non-network teams will have guys who will always be wanting to develop new projects and start new teams. If the team/network you have joined is very sucessful, you can be guaranteed that their future projects will likely be sucessful too. By ingraining yourself into the agent base and comitting to being a part of something bigger than just yourself, you stand a good chance of landing one of these future teams of comitted agents and good builders under your ownership umbrella. The best thing about it is that it comes with guys who know what they are doing and can help you with everything from AI's to finances, to builds.

Or you can continue to try and beat your head against the wall as a solo project and wonder why it is so hard to recruit and compete in this game. This is a social game above all else, working with others and developing relationships will only make you and everything you do in this game better.

To continue with the team ownership advice, roster recruitment generally starts on D20 of the previous season. Regardless of whether you own the team or not at that juncture, that's the time to recruit. If you are trying to piece together players you have to jump on them when they become available. Trying to pick over leftovers and fill out a squad is terrible. Especially given that many of the actual leftovers end up retiring.
