Am I correct in saying there is no way to put in a blocking WR during run plays? I see no specific WR position deal during the AI builder. Is it a waste to build a blocking WR to seal the edge? Thanks in advance for any help.

No way to do what you want to do. It is a waste to build a blocking WR in my opinion especially when you could build a blocking TE for less flex and put him out there if you were able to do it which you can't...lol

You actually can make a TE block o.O

Put them in the WR 2 slot. For running right anyway.
Edit: By this I mean put only him in the slot and leave the rest in the default WR slot.
Edit 2: Btw it burns a lot of stamina. Just so you know.

And remove him from every pass progression since he will be the #2 WR for 100% of the pass plays as well.

Who throws it on 4th and 1?

I tried 2 BWRs last season. I generally played them at the #2 slot and ran most of my outside runs to the strong side. I had 2 extra AIs to put them in the 1 or the 2 slot. They held there blocks well but almost never got pancakes. It didn't make much sense when the had 3-4 times the strength of the average CB.

What number is your str/blk?

If you sacrifice a WR slot in terms of progressions every game you can just shift the blocking WRs around. Have to tie the passing game into the rushing game so everything works out.

I don't think it's so much about pancakes as it it being able to hold a double block and not letting either defender getting free. Another bonus, specially in the lower levels is the ball runner's vision/agility is so low the ball carrying dot will generally not change path and run into the WR/defender. Generally he'd be tackled but with my power WR's I've noticed he runs past them even when he runs right into them. In my view strength has a big reason for that success.
2 things. This may not be true, and this may not make sense b/c I'm drunk.

I built a Power WR for that very purpose and he worked fine. Thing is the WR position USUALLY is blocking against CB's or Safeties, and... sometimes... LB's. So he doesn't really NEED to be O-line strength... just "strong". My WR finished with an 80 Strength and 80 Catching... about 135 speed... and around 90 Agility. He held his blocks just fine on running plays and he even caught passes when needed to (I made him real tall and heavy and gave him plenty of Jump... so he was like a TE playing WR).
Just know he's never going to be a star... or be a HOF'er.
As far as putting them in on specific plays... I don't think you can. There might be a trick out there, but I don't know of it. But it's not a waste to build a Power WR for the dual purpose of blocking on running plays AND catching passes when needed to.
