I could be wrong, but being on this game since season 1 I think his build is quite solid, but I notice his effective level is 2 lower than his actual level. The only thing I can think is that custom equipment doesn't effect this, and that me having my "kicking abilities" up so high at a low level has dropped it. Am I correct in my assertion?

Or, am I wrong about him having a decent build?

Your kicking is much much too low which is likely hurting your effective level.

stopped applying sp to kicking too soon. Should have been at 78 naturally at least by day 40.

As they said, plus adding SP to Special Abilities hurts as well because it's not spent on Attributes which get ALG's. Getting your high ALG Attributes (Kicking, Conf, Vision) up high as fast as possible is what gets that Effective Level going, not to mention Multi-Training and applying SP at the right times.
