When judging how well a CB is doing.
Assuming that he is not noticeably being beaten with speed or losing coverage on quick turns, or constantly being faked out more than the norm.
How do you measure him on Targets and Receptions Allowed?
In particular, I have a dot that always is targeted far more than my other CBs.
But he deflects a decent percentage of them.
Does the high amount of targets mean he is not covering as tightly and therefore the opposing QB sees his receiver open more often? In other words, is that a bad thing that would make you want to release or hide him in the depth chart? Or is it just random or the result of his position on the DC?
Or is the only thing that matters what percentage of targets are not allowed?
Or are those two bits of information not at all relevant?
