So, I was thinking that it would be awesome to introduce the ability to script out a set of plays to be run offensively. Basically you'd have the option to decide how many plays, what plays and the order of the plays to be run and when to run them. So, if I want my first 10 plays to be exactly a particular play with no deviation from that...I would implant a play script for my opening drive. So, I would pick when (1st quarter opening drive), how many plays (5,10,15) and what plays (formation, run or pass and what play exactly) and then list the order of these plays to be run...No matter the outcome. So, I could run 3 plays and have to punt and then the next series of plays I would run the remaining 7 plays. Once I've run my set number of plays...(if it took 1 series or 4 series to complete) playing calling would revert to whatever the AOI is set up for.
I think it would be awesome to introduce for an OC that wants a little more control over what plays or call and in what sequence from now and then... This is something I almost always did when I was an OC in real life for a minor league team.

Thoughts?

cant you already do something like this with no auto adjust, the min remaining and all that shit in the AI?

i guess this would be simpler but i dont care much for it.

the ultimate would be to have a live game setup. This would basically be a whole new game almost but it would be awesome to have your coords on battling it out in a live game.

Even though I will never be in a world league championship game, how cool would it be to see the two top teams battle it out live for an audience to see.

this is pretty much impossible.

live playcalling is NGTH

You can achieve this kind of by setting up the AI with time remaining in quarter, but it is clunky at best.

I'd be up for "play strings" or something. You could set up the number of plays in the string, and then each play etc. Then a string could be imported into a package or an AI.

I could see that as not being game breaking, and not needing the defense to have some way to counter it.

no, not really.. You would have to know exactly what the time remaining is for each play, and you just can't predict that...especially if you don't get the ball to start the game. You could get it with only 30 seconds being taken off the clock or 3 minutes. The only way you could effectively achieve a set play script, is being able to have an option to do so with no worries of time remaining on the clock.

it would be cool to have i guess. im not really for or against the idea. if it got implemented, cool. if not, oh well. not a bad idea though.

You could break it down by possessions. 1 st possession run this set of plays ( break that set down by down and distance if you want. Then move onto your second position and so on..

Well, typically.... OC's (in real football) will script a particular number of plays to be run in a set order. These plays have been practiced over n over again in preparation for a game. These plays are usually used to play off each other using the same formation or same play in different formations. Scripted plays are either used to get an idea or feel for what the defense is going to do, what kind success certain plays will have and if they should be used further on and to set a defense up to over play whats going on to set up a 1st drive score. Not sure how well this would translate in GLB. But, if a good DC is doing their job in scouting, tagging and such...it could give an OC an extra something to work with in their favor and not be some big disadvantage for a defense. I feel defensive AI's have a little more control than an offensive AI, in that they can move dots around for depth or whatever against certain formations...Where an offense can't. Usually an offense (again in real life) can use motions to counter what a defense is doing formation wise...of course this isn't the case in GLB. hmmmm, what about being able to motion players around?? ohh yeahh.. haha

...even if this could be done, it seems like an unnecessary waste of time for the developers, when they could be focused on more important matters ...if it ever was to be done, it would be right down at the bottom of the list for tasks to be done ...yeah agreed, it's irrelevant imo -1

Maybe when the game was 100% completed if thats ever possible, then they could surprise people with something like this.

I dont know if I would even use it but it sounds cool.
