How many seconds does the QB look at each check down?

I know they just made the first one a little longer?

But the PC I mostly use will not show me the QBs targeting so I can not time it out to see how long each look is, or if they vary by order or from play to play.

Anyone know this?

In other words -

If the QB progression is Wr1 Wr2 TE HB FB how long does the QB look at each?

Does the QB look at WR1 for 3 seconds and then one second each for the rest?

And how does an early RB coming out of the backfield change this?

And how does "distance" over "open man" effect it, if at all?

It varies. Big time.

Depends on if the QB has points in Quick Read. Depends on the QB's passing tactics (Route Distance vs Open Man). Depends on if the QB recognizes a blitz coming in or not. Depends on whether or not the QB gets hurried or not. Depends on whether or not another receiver later in the progression yells "I'm Open!" and draws the QB's attention. Depends on how tightly-covered the receiver is while the QB happens to be looking at him.

Basically, there is no set number of seconds.

They did make a recent change that makes the QB more likely to look at the first target a little longer, but all of the other variables above still apply. Any number of things can still make the QB move on from the first progression to the second one, and on from there.
