I never have been on a CPU team and it seems like I am not getting my points for playing.

You get max game XP and nightly XP on any team regardless of the league.

What Dub J said plus you can just look at your XP history and see

His player is done receiving XP. At 245 days old and only level 67 he missed some boosts so he hit the boost cap early.

18 boosts - Level 67.

My player who is the same age is at 24 boosts and level 72 and will reach 73 and stop.
