Right now the start off-season and the end of pre-season is 18 to 20 days, this is longer if your team/players do not make the playoffs.
I am going to take everything from rollover,
Day 40-Day 41, Teams are sold back
Day 41- Signing freeze (the boring-est day of GLB) Team Movements, Fixing any team sale issue, There is no reason why you have to wait until rollover to do anything, Players really can't do anything team wise, so move the teams and restructure leagues Day 41 all day, don't wait until rollover.
Day 42- Fix any team movement issues, teams can be moved at anytime, not just at rollover. Team Sales, let people buy teams and sign players the same day agents that already have teams can. Also, you can get a better idea how many human/cpu teams will be in a league.
Day 43- Fixing any agent issues
Day 44[/b]- Last day of Offseason
Day -4 first pre-season game (even day)
Day -3 first pre-season game (odd day)
Day -2 second pre-season game (even day)
Day -1 second pre-season game (odd day)
Day 0- End of pre-season
Cut out two pre-season games, since we have the scrim on demand, where you can get 8 games a day (even increase that to 10, if you want) you can lose two pre-season games. I feel most owners ignore these now anyway, and care more about the quick scrims, TP's would have to be doubled or worked out so there is no to minimal loss of training.
This would keep people on and interested, knowing they don't have a month to sign with teams, also, most agents already have teams lined up for the next season and vise verse.
That would shorten off-season/pre-season from 20 days to 10, keeping players active and interested, since there won't be close to a month before the season starts.
