So in one of our preseason games, we faced this situation: 3rd and 3 from our own 34, trailing by 56 points (we were vastly overmatched) and my AI calls for us to run plays from a package called "Third and Short" in that situation, which is all running plays except for one "Quick Outs" play. Yet we end up running a five-wide streaks play for a deep pass attempt.

Why did the AI do this? Is it because of the "auto adjust" feature that takes the AI away from what you've actually called?

I even entered the parameters to "test" the AI and it spit out the correct output of "Third and Short" package.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Sounds like an AI error somewhere. Check that your playbook contains each play in the package.

Auto adjust won't actually change your play. It just alters your percentages biases in the package.

To add to IRWT's post, when you do the AI tester, be sure that you have the point differential, the field position, and the quarter / time exact. Even guys that have been doing AIs for 20 seasons can occasionally have AI errors in obscure situations.

Yes check for the little simple things that you might have overlooked.
