just curious if i reset a team of mine and change the team name if i lose the trophies in my teams trophy case.

No, you do not lose them. As an example, Wu ( http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1876 ) has changed their names several times (altho they are back to their original) and they still have all of their trophies.
