The general idea of this post is to basically split the current stat awards into position/archetype stat awards.

Not sure if this has been brought up in a while (or at all) but what I’d really like to see is some attention given to the guys that just like to build DOT’s and not run a team (or have involvement with the team).

I occasionally like to help out other teams and build a DOT or two and as much as I like to see the team win the actual owning of the DOT is pretty boring, I mean what motivation do I have to build a blocking FB (or even a WR in the current sim)?

What would help if we could track how good that DOT is compared to all the others of that position/archetype (role). If the role could be filtered and then compared to some specific stats for that role (I think even now a FB will be compared with Blocking, Receiving and Rusher etc all grouped together and a Blocking FB isn’t going to compete with a Rusher FB).

To start we wouldn’t even need new stats to compare each role we could just use the current stats on offer but have role specific for each (hopefully more stats could be introduced at a later date and even split MVP races to give a “Pro Bowl Placement Award” for example).

Not sure if anyone else feels the same but it would give me much more motivation to build for others like a Pass Blocking OT or Pass Coverage LB knowing I could see these DOTs in a competitive race for an award.

If I understand the gist of your post, you want positional archetype specific comparisons. A level 27 blocking FB should only be compared (statistically speaking or build speaking?) to another level 27 blocking FB. I'm not privy to the inner workings of how the DOT LOLbars are compiled but suspect it's based on the specifics of the archetype they are (in other words, based on the work done to the primary and secondary skills of that specific archetype, which differs from archetype to archetype).
As for stat differences, I completely agree. I've seen suggested (and have done so myself) that STOPS need a different set of stats on their page than the ones given. A Center STOP still has the same stats listed as a regular Center... and that's stupid because only a small handful of Center STOPS ever play the "center" position. Their stats should include tackles and forced fumbles and pancakes and revcakes and stuff particular to THEIR archetype... not a generalization.
I'm all +1 for the getting of stats to reflect the archetype....
I'm not sure a change in how we compare archetypes is needed.

This was all I meant.

I think it would generate a lot more interest if the current stats awards were split into archetype specific. That way you would have a lot more to route for if, for example, you built a Center you would at least stand a chance of winning the Pancake award because you would only be up against other Centers.

I +1 this idea not for the addition of more awards but for the comparisons of the same archtypes

+1, and use it for league rankings and trophies each season as well as total stats for all positions.

and improve the stats that get trophies. Nobody cares about fumbles lost, for example, in league standings, yet it's been there for forever. Give trophies for coaches and/or owners, based upon a similar forum to MVP, and/or based upon where their team finished in various O/D/ST rankings.

Individual achievements need to be increased to get non-coordinators greater interest in the game, beyond simply building and just checking in on a game and training. Every season someone suggests these things, yet we still get fumbles lost as a league stat category and individual trophies are heavily minimized.

GLB is fun for me, but with improved game features the game can be even greater, plus get people to build more dots.

I knew Gup would be here. This suggestion isn't on it's first trip through the land of forgotten suggestions. But I never could understand why it doesn't get done. I mean, it's not like it would be some kind of epic re-write of stuff... just the stats that show up on the player's page, team page, and player rankings. My only guess is it muct be really hard to implement because it seems so easy to me.
