Special teams is considered a "run play" by GLB. With that said:

Would "lead block" work for the back wedge blockers or even the other blockers for that matter?

Per Wiki: Lead Block - Any time a player is heading downfield with the RB following him, it's a lead block.

I dunno if that applies since it's not a HB it's a KR/PR, never tried it.

Could be a nice addition to the STOPS if it works but I just don't know if it does or not.

I'm preeeeeeety sure Bort has answered this before, and the answer was "no," but I'm not 100% on it.

Which is why I wish there was a better "search" feature for information like this.

What if I was building a block HB and he was leading the rushQB downfield?

I'm guessing that would actually work.

HBs are almost always behind the QB or beside them. The QB is so effective at certain levels of the game because he doesn't wait for blockers. Also incredibly useless at certain points as the opposition blitzes one man versuses the QB and three blockers, and the QB takes an angle that gets to the defender long before a blocker is there to assist.

I was tempted to build a slower rushing QB just so the blockers would get their first and go heavy on strength and power thru. Not looking to break off those 80 YD TD's but get around 5 yards or more by running over CB's and such. Just not sure if I want to spend the flex to try it.

Searched for "lead block" on http://www.glbwiki.com/qa/search.php ...

Question: What is considered a Lead Block in GLB?
Borth: Pretty sure that's been answered before; anybody close enough to the runner and ahead of him, or who is specifically coded to "Lead Block," like the FB on many plays. 90% of the time it's the latter case that's important for skills and such.

Still doesn't answer your specific question, but it definitely narrows things down a bit from what you posted in the OP.

I also saw some references to Lead Block working for O-linemen if they are doing something specific like pulling for an outside run, but NOT working if they're just straight-ahead blocking on an inside HB run.

So, I'd say the odds of Lead Block working on Special Teams are slim, and if it does work, it would likely be only in very limited and rare circumstances... which would suggest that you can get a bigger bang for your buck with a different SA if you want good blocking on ST plays.
