So, I've never had a dot around long enough to hit that decline point of its career. What day do they start taking negative hits to attributes?

Full boosted players will leave plateau at 481 days of age. They'll start declining 8 days after that.
imo, reasonably you can play 1 season into decline. There's definitely a stigma with decline dots, but a well built dot will have no problem on the field with the minor effects of 1st season decline.

Plus, you'll keep gaining VA pts as you decline, which can be used toward stat VA's, like Track Star, to help blunt some of the decline impact.
