Make it so that if I make a player on day 10 of a season he gets all of the training points he would have obtained and also that he "unlocks" experience as he spends those training points.

For example, a player starts with 10 training points (right? whatever the default is on day 40) plus 2 for each day after Day 40. Thus by Day 0 a new player would start with 44 Training Points, and a new player starting on Day 10 would have 64 Training Points.

Then after the player uses the first 44 Training Points he also begins to gain experience as he uses the remaining points.

The use of each 2 training points would result in a gain of experience for daily experience and every 4 points used would gain a game experience as well. So the player would be leveling as he spends his training points that were added for Days 1 through the date of his creation. He is considered to have played a game the last day so that he can not double up by gaining experience in a real game as well.

In this way the player would be made to be where he would have been had he been created on Day 40 in both training and experience gain.

The ability to gain experience would be erased at roll over, so if you wanted to get this benefit you would need to use it on the day of creation.

If implemented, the day of creation of the player would have to be changed to Day 0 of the season of creation to avoid extra experience gaining down the road. If desired the Day of creation could be the actual day of creation but his age increased by one for each 2 training points over the Day 0 points used.

This would make creating players possible any time during the season with out any detriment other than the loss of the opportunity to boost in the first post - season.

so uh you mean like be able to use the VPB to build an insta dot at any time.

Yes that is an idea I personally support....but not a GLB supported idea.

Not saying it is a good "why?" response, but he did answer the "why?"

is Yello a native German speaker? random capitalized words in title...

it is a lot of text but i think i get it--basically a way to build a dot any day and have it be roughly equal to one built day 40ish

sounds good but

1) way too complicated to address a problem that only affects a small number of people
2) the people who would benefit--those who have come new to the game mid-season--usually should retire that dot right away and start over. its part of how they learn
3) the dots still wouldn't be truly equal because of the ALGs
4) you would also have to get rid of the discount for buying teams mid-season or you'd have whole teams of dots being created around the signing/trade deadline, which would reduce/alter overall competitiveness in a lot of leagues and create all kinds of complaints about balanced scheduling

But you WOULD get the ALGs, you are leveling as you get enough experience as well.

And dismissing the new customer's frustration is kinda missing the point. Trying to keep your new customer is precisely what you want to do.

In the current system roughly 75% of your customers show up when they are unable to build a competitive worthwhile dot.

This being the age of instant gratification, that means most of your 75% of new players will shrug and walk away from the game without even getting a chance to play.

Thats not wise.

This idea, as poorly presented as it may be, makes it possible for a new player to wander into the game and make a fully competitive player from the get go on any day of the season.

As for the team thing, maybe. But I suspect that would be a trivial concern not worth upsetting the apple cart. Especially since if your new customer has deep pockets and wants to build a solo team from scratch on Day 30, why put any impediment or disincentive in his way?
