What is a good speed to agility ratio to strive for long term with a man specialist? It doesn't have to be optimal, but I just want to have it in the general ball park. I was thinking about having my player's agility at about 80% of his speed, is that a good idea?

Depending on what kind of build you are working towards it could be anywhere from 140 speed to 160. I think most people settle for somewhere between 150 and 160 though unless you are working on being a pure intercept build or a hard hitting CB. Those guys usually sacrifice to get their catching or strength up. 90 to 100 agility is the norm for most CB's these days. My personal general rule is always go 60% of your speed.

140 speed is going to be too low, imo. Also, I wouldn't think of speed/agility as a ratio. That's a mistake, imo. They are complimentary attributes but trying to apply a ratio is the wrong methodology.

150 is a safer minimum for speed on a coverage dot. I'd say 150 speed/85 agility are good minimums. At 85 agility you get minimal speed loss when changing directions for some nice sharp cuts. I personally like 95+ with some Change Direction but that isn't always a possibility.

great question and wondering where to be on my CB too.

Right now I have two CEQ pieces: 1 with +6 agility, and the other with +6 speed.

My options depending on which CEQ I use are 157/94 or 151/100.

Which do you think would be optimal?

remember that neither speed nor agility are the primary attributes for causing deflections--so don't ignore vision and jumping.
