I am changing my OP as Gambler worded it better:

There was another sports sim I was playing ... where the build was compared against the rest of the age bracket, and the #s were normalized to a 100 scale based off that.
- Changes would impact the various ranges much more evenly.
- The sim would look more watchable early on, and would be more likely to retain new customers.
- Coaching at the lower levels of the game would actually VAGUELY resemble later on. As it is right now, it requires completely different schemes ... and I think you might see more coordinators stick with OC/DC'ing ... if they didn't spend their first few tries at it working with dots that act completely retarded, and need to be "tricked" into going to the right areas.
I still see rookie D side dots do the "ice skates" thing and circle 20 yards out of bounds when they're trying to turn. I've never seen even an 8 yr old peewee player do that. If that ~18 agility (which is actually good for the age bracket), were instead being SCALED within that age group ... then problem fixed without a huge number of bandaids.
