I mean - seriously, no receiver gets close until around level 76 (Sure, there are probably a few exceptions, but that's not the point)

This basically makes this VA non-existent for all dots until right around plateau.

This just doesn't make sense, since the competition is (ideally) relatively even up the ladder. Why shouldn't a team of level 32 dots be able to have a go to receiver?

It's already limited to 1 player on the field at a time, so not sure why the fame requirement is even there.

That makes sense. replace the requirement with something else perhaps. A sliding Fame scale (say 2 Fame per day of Age or 100 fame per season) or have it only be active if the top Fame among receivers or something like that.

I like it limited to more experienced players but I can see what you mean about it being too far into a career to make it worth it.

Maybe link it to something other than fame. Perhaps level 25 minimum with a secondary requirement of X amount of yards in a season.. or Y amount of consecutive catches without a drop.. or Z amount of games playing with that specific QB... or something like that.

Speaking of which.. what ever happened to that new achievement system Bort was talking about..

I tried to think of an alternative prerequisite - nothing really workable jumped out.

Doesn't make sense to create a situation where people would try to exploit the prerequisite - like yards in a season. No other VA's makes you strive for anything more than archtype or a minimum attribute level.

In the end it was easier just to abolish the fame requirement.
Plus I couldn't think of any good reason to have any prerequisite on it anyway. Hell, make it so that you have to be listed as a starter on the depth chart for it to fire - that makes some sense, and would keep every receiver on the depth chart from adding it.

most likely all the fame-linked VAs were not adjusted after the advent of ADP... shorter total lifespan=less fame gained at any given level
