I wouldn't worry about stamina so early in a dot's career. I actually wouldn't worry about it at all. It's an ALG and your player won't be on the field 24/7 so leave it be.
Edit: Maybe later in your dot's career when you are done spending SP's in your 4 main attributes you can spend some SP's in stamina. I'm not an expert on this, but I can tell you not to pay much attention to stamina on a lower level dot.

Your build is basically like a fat kid running away from a zombie, you may not need much stamina at first. However if the fat kid didn't have a good amount later Rosie O'Donnell would eventually catch him.
Basically I agree with Bag

watch the games. if you see that his performance is suffering from lack of energy, train it. i would never use SPs on stamina until late in its career.

I did explain it actually, and then I revised my post and took it out.

In answer to your question, stamina is more important to your dot by position. An O-lineman needs more than a TE (but not by a lot). A TE needs more than a QB. A QB needs more than a kicker. It's basically relative to the position and that positions' combat requirements. To explain, A (passing) QB seldom runs a lot or gets pounded a lot (unless your O-line is total crap... like the Jets) so he doesn't need a lot of stamina (especially early in his career). But a O-lineman spends all his time blocking big strong guys or chasing speedy ones so he needs more.
Also, any STOP (special teams archetype dot) who plays a lot on ST's (Special teams) will need stamina because they burn it badly.
Suggestions; At the beginning of your dots career, instead of putting SP's into stamina, use your EQ (equipment) to boost his stamina a little. Each season you can re-adjust your EQ so it isn't permanent. This way, as BagO'Chips said, you can ignore putting SP's into stamina for quite a while and concentrate on the more important aspects of your build. Be sure to ask your coaches how much stamina they expect you to have at any given time and they'll help you figure out the best way to achieve that.
Hope this helps.

Not sure how good this strategy is. I'd just leave the stamina and put EQ in the main attribute

Do not train or spend SPs in stamina early on under no circumstance. Period. Wait till your primary attributes are filled up, at least.
Think long-term, not short term.

ok i think i have a couple of questions here then. im running a team this season and noticing guys on my team dont even have enough stamina to make it through an 8 down drive, ive set my energy settings and things like that as well. i thought that playing with low stamina and or morale puts a hit on your attributes? im guessing that hit isnt significant enough to spend sp points in stamina. Now about the think long term statement, my question is this. i was reading someones post in some thread that said, some guys making teams, players, etc, will take the losses now and because of how they are building, and try to win later on down the line in better leagues. So im wondering if i should be shooting for a certain league? Should i even be trying in the rookie/prep leagues? Shouldnt i be trying to win in every game? every season? Thanks in advance.

Build to win now:
Your main attributes aren't taken very high and this allows you to work on stamina and vision or agility or whatever sooner than what others will do. Because your dot is a more well rounded dot than he will perform better and thus gives you a better chance to win now. But.....later in your dots career he will not be as good as those who focused on their main attributes and put off things like stamina or whatever.
Build to win later:
A lot of people could care less about winning so early on and want to win Pro Leagues or World Leagues so they will focus on their most important attributes a lot longer and put off things like stamina and confidence or whatever. These people usually don't put skill points into SA's til around level 60 minimum and some don't until level 70-level 79 as they want their attributes done first to take advantage of those ALG's and training.

It really depends on where you want your players, and team, to be at the end of their careers...
If Pro League or World League is your goal, then a very careful build plan is a must, and it will involved focusing exclusively on your primary, secondary and tertiary skills in your first three seasons (STR, BLK and AGI for an o-line player for example), while ignoring your other attributes. That means that early on your STA will be 20ish and will have a negative impact on performance, but it's the only way to get your major attributes to the level they need to be to play in the best GLB leagues.
If your team isn't planning on boosting to reach level 79, your team is in a casual league, or you just don't care to reach for the highest leagues... do your thing along the way, have fun, try to win some trophies, then you could consider raising STA early in their career. Just don't be surprised or upset if you ask an agent to improve his dot's STA early in his career and the agents refuses. It's a big bonus now, but prevents your dot from reaching its full potential.
