Catch locked a thread here http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=4989251 that sought to keep dots from losing TPs immediately after creation

EXCEPT if you dot isn't on a team they can't do this and if they have to wait for auto-offers they can't train and unless you can stay online indefinitely and wait for offers you risk losing TPs

I created 2 dots about an hour ago and requested auto-offers so they could train and haven't gotten any yet--sometimes it is fast and sometimes it isn't

I'd think GLB would do things that encourage people to spend flex and not being able to train (and use the surplus TPs) doesn't.

if these two don't get offers in next ten minutes I'll have to retire them and try again tmrw or else have to bother support and take up their valuable time to deal with losing 12 TPs

still nada... will try to log back in later, but this is a major unnecessary pain... I can't see any possible exploit to being able to train during the offseason if not on a roster

There is no "ban" against training during the offseason.

This.

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong but we are not in the offseason. This is considered preseason and you have to be on a team.

No reason not to be on a team during the preseason. If you don't want to sign with anyone then pffffttttt.

and there is a reason not to be on a team in preseason--if you build and can't get any offers right away! its not about not wanting to accept them

I built two dots earlier today. they had 26 TPs. If I had not logged back in to accept offer they would have lost 12 TPs at rollover...That's just messed up. There at least should be a 24 hour window before you start losing TPs or something.

why should you have to be on a team to train in preseason? in real life guys work out even if they aren't in camp or are holding out or whatever.

maybe the amended suggestion needs to be "allow newly built dots to train until they are under 14 TPs upon creation regardless of whether they are on a team yet so nobody loses TPs"--where's the exploits in that?

edit: OR get the suggestion could be: get the "request offers from needy teams" thing to work faster and more consistently--its failure to do so was my root problem earlier today

You can have up to 14 TP at rollover. If you have more than 14, use them. Problem solved.

I "think" I understand Fogie's gist here. (If I'm wrong, please correct.) The "14" number that AirMcMVP speaks of is a leftover number of that old days of dot building. GLB has long since changed that method and now you get a lot more TP's than you did back then. Since that has changed, I believe Fogie is asking for the "cap" (14) to match the newer build process (say new cap at 30?). This would cover this incident and any other like them. It could even be made to be in effect ONLY during preseason... which would keep things on the up-n-up. Eh?

fogie55 has a point. If you create a dot in the preseason, you can't train until you accept an offer. You can't accept an offer until you get an offer. If you don't get the offer before rollover, you lose the surplus TP. There's no scenario where that loss of TP makes any sense, especially because it's contrary to the point of getting the extra TP in the first place.
