i know I suggested something like this ages ago (when I lived in another continent, so has gotten slightly better) but I can't find it now

it would be nice to have a universal date and time for GLB.

1) Time.... right now its 6:25 EST. But my team calendar shows I have a scrim scheduled at 6:00 and the countdown says that won't be for 1.5 hours (so its 4:25 in where ever games get simmed. But timestamps on forum posts say it is now 7:25 three hours later than that. At the very least all times need to have a time zone included. Game scheduled can say Central and forum posts can say Atlantic. It gets even worse and the beginning and end of daylight savings time which only some areas (even within the US) observe.

2) Dates... virtually every GLB announcement says something like "Monday, Oct. 1 wil be the last day of Season 30" or something... rarely does it say "Day 45 will be the last day." Oct 1 is Day 45 for most users, but its Day 44 for others. Game schedules have calendar dates like "Oct 1" instead of having GLB dates like "Day 45" which would be much more useful.

Let's have some consistency folks, please! Let's have one date and time system for everything.

I don't know. I didn't know I was confused until I read Fogie's post. Now I am.

But seriously... GLB is like the only (on-line) game I've played that DOESN'T do this in some form or another. I agree with the OP. You could either post it as GMT or simply allow a second "clock" for each user to set to their own time zones.

Seriously don't know how anything on the Internet uses local time to begin with.
