I have a free player and i was wondering if there is any consequences for retiring him such as not getting free boosts every season?

If you bought CE, you will not get a full refund of the flex spent on the Custom Equip. Otherwise, there are no flex consequences to retiring him. The free player slot will be available again to create a new free player.
