I know the PRO league contraction is coming next season and that will help the number of CPU teams in Reg-PRO, but what about bringing back the old "waiting list" to purchase teams? This would help to strengthen the leagues again, make it so you actually have to play against full teams with actual owners/agents and not just stash dots on CPU teams for stats.

There are close to 170 CPU teams from Natty-Minor to Reg-PRO. If you brought back the waiting list it could ake it so owning a team meant actually giving a s&^t rather than 0 cares that come across from some.

Seemed the anticipation of starting a team back in the day based on "Well, I'm 400 on the list, possible I will have a team next season", was a bit more exciting.

Could help with recruiting as the player pool would have to be smaller and agents would be looking to get on active teams?

I don't know...just a thought.

Making people wait to buy your product is usually a bad idea for business. Many people will keep their money in their wallet as a result. Better to allow immediate gratification and to get your money when the whimsy strikes rather than filtering for dedicated spenders.

As for the 170 teams, I would imagine that since Bort is biting the contraction bullet he will trim league numbers down across the board and shelve alot of CPU teams in the process.

I'm with yello here, when I want to burn Flex, I want to burn Flex

Sucks enough that we can really only create players during an 8 day window then have to wait in 47 or so day cycles. 4 PMs this morning where guys created and boosted new players asking to join my teams - they'll get 70% of the wasted flex they already spent - what a costly mistake - maybe a warning should be given at this point in the season to players who dump 900 flex into a new WR created on day 38?

Works for Apple.

It's all about the anticipation of getting a team. Now, it's just "hey, I want to build a dot for testing X...may as well buy a team to try some stuff out." You now watered down the league you just joined.

You can still burn flex, 400 for a team isn't what I would call lighting it up flex-wise. Build a couple dots, donate to a team for scrimmages or whatnot. This idea is to limit teams to avoid the numerous CPU teams available. Not saying you can't own a team by any means; just saying this could/would allow Bort to ration them instead fo dilluting the leagues. Would make regular season more than lolcares.

Making people play in leagues filled with CPU teams is much worse for business.

I work for an IT company, and we would much rather have our product work well and be used by a limited number of users than be available to a multitude and it suck. If the product is good, people will be patient (at least for a little while), whereas if the product is horrible, everyone is unhappy.

We could have it both ways. Let us burn Flex when we want without waiting lists, AND make CPU teams as good as their human peers.

I solve problems for a living as you can see

IMHO the best GLB is being able to license the game and play without humans at all. CPUs as good as any human dots and be able to scrimmage, simulate games on the fly - my season can go from 40 days to about 3 day and do it all over again. Who needs people if you have good CPU dots to roll around with. Just a different perspective anyway.

Guess I don't see the corelation between burning flex and owning a team? If you don't own a team you can still spend plenty of flex each and every season simply by building dots correct?

Now, I just looked at your profile and see you have 8 teams; of those they appear to be a mismash of CPU dots and filler agents. A lot of barely-full rosters. If we had a waiting-list, and you only had two teams, those could both be full, and competitive.

Again, this is more to make all leagues more competitive by limiting teams full of half rosters and/or CPU owners. The talent pool is slim with so many teams available.

Everybody has a team these days, and those teams have teams. This game has been watered down for some time now, its all about making as much $ while they can because it will never leave beta. In their eyes if that means letting everybody own a team, well than so be it.
