honestly I haven't even looked at or modified my friends list in about 8 seasons or more...there just isn't enough interconnection or synergy between it and the rest of the game to make it useful to even keep up to date

others may have a lot of good ideas for what to do to make this more useful...off the top of my head I'd say things like:

--my friend's players are highlighted in the marketplace
--when I click on a team's home page i see something that says "you have 3 friends with players on this team"
--i get an alert when a friend buys or sells a team
-- my friends' posts in any forum are highlighted with a color (a very light shade)
--anything from my friends in my inbox gets color coded like PMs from admins (a different color of course)
--if my friend's team appears on my team's schedule its highlighted or colored in some way
--a special tab within the friends tab area that shows any needs of/openings on my friends' teams
--etc.


I do think the friends system can be a great resource but IMO right now its not very useful at all.

these are just some ideas. i'm happy to add more if people have better/other ones.

it really isn't a need but it is something that could simply be used as a tool for the user base. for example having the ability to categorize the friends list. you could have a list of all the mods, a list of all the admins, then a list of players on your teams and even a list for agents you are recruiting their players. you would have a tab and be able to easily access that player without looking through all the agents that wouldn't be on that certain list.

The friends list is pretty pointless, im like you and havent touched it in years.

The friends list is very useful if you know what you're doing.

THE FRIENDS LIST IS ONLY A NAME. IT IS NOT A REQUIREMENT THAT YOU ONLY ADD PEOPLE THAT YOU LIKE OR CONSIDER YOUR FRIEND.


On my friends list...

- Admins: if I have an urgent issue I can see who's on and send them a PM directly

- Mods: if I am bored and want to troll like a mofo I can see who's on and avoid their usual haunts

- Owners/coordinators of opposing conference/league teams: so I can see if they are on before our game. i will check out their depth charts and such to see if they are making any changes

- Users who own dots I am recruiting: so I can send them a PM to get an update on their status. Sometimes timing is everything in recruiting.

- Users who have dots with my team that haven't re-signed yet: if I see they've logged on several times and still haven't re-signed I PM them and if no response I start looking for their replacement

I shouldn't even be telling you this, tbh. I don't know what's wrong with me.
