New agent here and I was just wondering what we can do with our player's salary once he gets it or is it just for show?

The player (or players agent) doesn't do anything with it. Salary is just used to determine what morale benefit your player receives while playing.
Welcome to Goal Line Blitz! A player's morale will have an effect on their game play, you can view your player's morale on their player page and on your team's roster page.

for the OP's benefit, there was time when player cash was used to train and upgrade equipment and most teams maintained an "Equipment Fund" to pay for or offset some of these costs--plus players could get signing bonuses with their new contracts.
All of that was set aside because (mostly) of abuses of the system.
So now training is free, upgrades are either free or cost bonus tokens, salaries only affect morale. teams can further use cash for single-game and season-long promotions
also, supposedly GLB tracks the cash your player would have been earning in some kind of virtual bank account for when/if uses for cash are reintroduced (or at least this was mentioned when cash was taken out of players hands back in season 15 or 16 or whenever that was...dunno if its still being done/was ever actually done).

Don't worry about player salary at your current level. A new team has to build a stadium and needs all the extra money they can scrape up to do so.
