hi guys,

i'm returning to GLB after a couple of years and confused about this new system.

When you look at each league, it has an age range and a level range.
Are these capped or just suggested?
Also, if they are restricted like this, does it mean that me creating players now is a waste of time as they would be forced to go into the Casual Prep league and therefore coming up against players up to level 22 or even 34 depending on exactly which league.

Note: i wish to purchase a team to have my players on and wanted them to be high level (for the appropriate league)

thanks in advance for advice

Player age is capped, level is not.

Newly created players would start in Rookie leagues, but would be behind on level for several seasons before they could catch up. If you want your players/team to be competitive, my suggestion to you is to start planning for a Rookie team for next season, post in the Teams Looking for Players forum to try to get people to commit to make new players for your team, then wait until the offseason (Day 40-48) to make your players, buy the team, and sign them to it.

If you want, you could make players now but not boost them or buy CE, and just learn the new training system (depending upon when you left, it is VERY different) and start reading and asking questions about the best techniques for player building and what good players look like in the current sim. If you sign them to D-League teams, you will be able to retire them on Day 40 and start over with some knowledge and comfort with the new systems in place.
