So when I go to a replay screen put a button somewhere on the screen that says "Post bug to bugs forum" if someone notices a possible bug in that replay.

What this does when clicking, it will have A Bug title, Bug comments, and a video of a replay compiled into one message post that will sent to the bugs forum without manually having to go into the bugs forum and link to the replay.

This would be much more convenient to people who notice bugs and would like to post them faster.

Not a bad idea but I would add that this "button" should not exist on private scrims as the Mods still cannot view those and have posted hundreds of times to that effect whenever someone DOES try to post a private scrim play as a bug.

True. So if this is a private scrimmage, then disable the button but if everyone can view it the enable the button.

How would this button know what the bug was?

Aer you thinking maybe a form opens up there and then for you to put in info?

It has know idea what the bug is. I said it in the OP that pressing the button would open a form requesting a title and the bug that you saw. This information gets sent to the bugs forum along with a copy of the replay so that we don't always have to link to the replay.

.... or to the "ticket system".

Also, this would be abused as people would click the button on every replay that their team didn't do exactly what they wanted.... which already makes up probably half of the "bugs" reported.

Agreed.

Potential for abuse, and SPAM is too high.

abused is a bit strong. If the play has something wierd in it it should always be open to the thought that it may be a bug. The players are not the coders so many times the users rely on admin and the bug department to help sort it out. Remember we are still in beta, and as beta players we are suppose to discuss the sim and any thing that maybe buggy to help develope a better product.

Abuse? No. Okay sure some people may send the replay to the bug forum whether or not there's a bug, but if you guys determine there isn't a bug then just lock the thread as usual.

If it's not a bug then simply just lock the thread... I don't see how hard that is.

If its a legitimate bug, and you've done your homework ... I don't see how hard it is to post in the Bugs forum.

The bugs moderators are supposed to moderate the forum. No offense to the bugs mods at all but If it's not a bug then the mods are supposed to lock it. Sure some people might spam the forum but overall the bugs mods are supposed to keep that forum nice and clean.

This will get WAAAAAAAY abused. The bugs staff would get absolutely overwhelmed.

Plus this also completely removes one of the biggest "assists" the bugs mods already get right now: other users.

Right now, a lot of times when someone posts a "bug" in the Bugs Forum that isn't actually a bug, a handful of regular users get to it WAY faster and explain to the OP why it isn't a bug, and later the Bugs Forum mods come along to confirm what the regular users already said and lock the thread.

In other cases, a user will post a bug, and that will inspire other people to say, "Yeah, I had that happen too" and post their own replays. And that additional support can be the difference between a Bugs Mod just saying "Need more examples, bro" versus saying, "Yep, looks like a bug. I'll have Catch take a look."

If you replace that with this "push button" system, you're removing that aspect of the bugs reporting system entirely. That feedback from other users is just too valuable to throw away.
