1) speed too low----be more helpful to have around 81-83

Agility should be in 90's.

Speed on a DT is not that important. They don't run down dots, don't really rush the passer, and generally move in a small area. Get speed to 2nd cap and let agl's take it to mid 60's. Use those SP's to get agility into low 90's and max out Wall, Break Through, Shed Blocks and Strong Base SA's to 10.

You couldn't be more wrong. Speed is very important to a DT. If you look at the build I displayed above you will see he has 81 speed and 95 agility with 10 in Wall, 11 in Break Thru, 8 in first step. So you can max out some SA's and still have high strength and high agility with speed.

Momentum is great for helping to break blocks, get a good break block roll, etc. This needs speed.

To get to the QB on a sack, hurry him or get a TFL you need speed.

While speed isn't the most important attribute ever, 80-85 is still worth it.

I don't know about couldn't be more wrong. Did your DT with high speed? I am asking because their stats are very similar to my to DT's and both of mine have 64 speed. I am not saying my DT's are better than yours, but if you have 80 speed, it is not making yours perform better than mine with 64 speed.

Not for nothing but confidence is low on your DT example. I would say low to mid 50's is standard.

DT's get TFL based on using their strength getting into the backfield and tackling the ball carrier and get hurries by collapsing the pocket with their strength. They are hardly ever running free and using speed to chase down runners or sack QB's. I just don't believe 80-85 speed makes any difference over 65 speed on a DT. Are they ever running full speed?

I am just going off of witnessing the difference in how my dot played before I added speed and first step.

Despite any stats......I notice my DT just seems to cause more chaos than he used to do which allows other players to succeed or my DT succeed. I could completely wrong about the speed. My personal experience is I saw improvement with speed and first step. That's just my .02

I strongly advise you to investigate on the effects of momentum before you keep discussing.

I personally prefer first step to more speed.

Strength 105, agility 96, tackling 85, speed 75 is where I would aim, with 9 or 10 points in First Step.

Take strength down a couple of points... I'm on my phone, but it is unlikely you could hit the targets described in my last post.

Thanks for the info.
I will probably try speed at 65 and see if I notice a difference in his abilities by punching it up to 75. If a true difference is felt in the chaos caused by the increase. I will probably up it up a few more to 80 and gauge improvement.
