Though it would be useful for someone like me, I have reservations about those who would set it up then go on auto-pilot without logging in for long stretches of time.

I think those that log in, log in because they stay interested. Those that do not log in, will not log in regardless. Have seen inactive dots in the current setup, and doubt the good agents that log in regularly would deviate their log in pattern, but rather find time to invest in forums, reviewing games, and simply checking on the progress of the players.
Slow cooking doesn't mean you have to stand over the pot, but doesn't mean you should leave the house either.
Admin wants GLB to be a social experience as well as a game. The idea suggested would undermine the social concept as new people join GLB. Rather than come into the fold and be active in the forums, many new users would be inclined to be casual users should the auto-train calendar be invoked.
Granted, as you say, those who are really interested will still be active regardless. Those are the people who own and run teams, who purchase CEQ, and buy the majority of Flex on GLB. However, I think Admin wants to see the percentage of such active users grow rather than risk seeing it shrink based on an influx of new casual users.
That's the quandary, and why I would like to see more users debate this suggestion.

I agree with you on this aspect. but the idea would make it somewhat easier for myself and a few others that have a ton of players. so I can see a good argument for either side of the situation.

There needs to be something done to ease the pain for the "large" FP agents. There can be an inactivity limit that turns off any auto-training until turned back on, so would still require regular logging in....
If it takes a little effort to setup the training plan, that can be better for some who have "moments" of inactive RL and can spend a few hours every several days to keep the auto-training up to date, and be a little active in forums in-between, but having to keep up with training and the planning behind the training on daily basis, along with remembering when level ups make a difference and SP need to be applied per the planned build.
A training calendar may not have to do all the work, but maybe it just allows us to keep track of a training plan and notify us when something needs attention.....
Currently there is a auto-training setting that will kick a flag up when that limit is hit. Add to that limit a flag when the following things get hit and it could be a useful update: 1) current BT/attr value - remains in place 2) SP or level (without having training enabled - waiting for a level up, for example, to be able to cap an attr) 3) number of TP available - want to wait a certain number of days, then re-evaluate the training plan 4) next/last level up will/did cross ALG window on 1 selected attr - allows to plan around a specific attr level up.
Something of this nature could actually INCREASE forum activity as an agent would not have to check a player's attrs/TP/SP or remember to check player zebra on Monday of next week...just has to look for "calendar" flags after setting up the plan for that player.....
Sure, I have a ton of players and would love something to improve this training madness, but I'm sure it would help even the 10-15 dot agent....
I can see this both ways. I don't have a lot of players myself and as of now only have 2 of training age so I'm not looking for anything less to do. If you have a lot of players I'm sure it would be helpful but this is the choice you make. I am not real fond of automating anymore than what we have already with player builds. Maybe if you have to have a certain number of players to activate but I'm not sure how hard that would be to do or if even feasible.
i will say +1 to this. since this would be an OPTION for those who want to use it. like the tactics calendar you dont have to use it if you dont want to. make it like the tactics calendar where you can only set it up for use during the current season. at rollover every season you would have to reset the training. But dont take away the current training options just add this.

A number of good points here. I know if the suggestion were implemented, I would use it. Perhaps this option would only become available after an agent spent a certain amount on flex? That would eliminate the problem of the casual user while rewarding the rest of us who actually invest in GLB.

Or people can have this option once they own more then 10 dots or so? Seems good to me.

That's sort of what I mean. The cheapest dot is 100 flex....x 10, that's 1000 flex, plus boosting and CEQ....that's about 13,000 flex purchased within the first season for all 10 dots combined. I know I've already spent that much flex, even though I only have 4 dots...but plan to build at least 7 new dots for next season....plus the team I own. So, from a flex standing, somewhere around 10,000 or 12,000 should be enough.
