How important is confidence?? Say you are a on crap team that gets blown out most games; should I train my D players in confidence or keep continuing to improve their basic skills like tackling and speed/strength. Also is it very important for o-linemen? My linemen rarely give up a sack but the QB is hurried alot. Thanks in advance for the help.

People can say what they want but I've noticed confidence seems to play a big role in how a team performs in the playoffs.

Same sim my ass.

I'd go a bit farther, Dub. For many, many seasons I felt that confidence was one of those "afterthought" skills you slipped an extra point into now and then unless your dot is a kicker, punter, or QB... positions for whom I thought confidence was actually designed for (kinda like how 'blocking' isn't for every dot... but is important to those whose position demands MADE it important to have). But,lately... with all the talk about moral spirals and dot-performance issues... I believe confidence is so interlocked with effects on other skills, that it's much more important than anyone gives it credit for. No matter what you build, Confidence is, at least, a secondary skill for every position... AND, when you read the info box of what it does for that position, you find out how it helps; "make tackles, deflect balls, avoid fakes, complete passes, catch passes, hold unto the ball, intercept passes, not get depressed when pancaked... scored on... or lose your date with the local cheerleader... ect, ect, ect." I keep putting more points into it and watching. Who knows... maybe my dot will run for President. Lord knows it would be better than what we got to choose from now.

If this were S7-11 I'd be impressed, but Deathbald is 1/2 the man he used to be - these days.

I've never been a believer in confidence, only because it has never had the morale-loss mitigating effect it was supposed to. I'm sure confidence helps some, but bad plays will tank morale even for high confidence players, just not quite as severely as low confidence ones. It's a lot of investment for not much return.

That's basically my complaint with confidence. Grab 40 for OTK and be done with it, imo (unless you play QB or K/P).

its weird...there are some players with high confidence and seriously lack in other skills that perform pretty well. A lot better than I would think. But then any time I take confidence up any it seems to not react the same. :|

There's a lot of weird stuff like that.

I saw one particular d-line dot that I was convinced was performing well because of high stamina (like 70+). I decide to take stamina up on a few of my d-line dots and of course I don't get similar effects. Total swing and a miss.

It was one of those things where it didn't really make sense, but I went against my gut and paid for it.

Flex costs real money too, so you really did pay for it.

+1

I've seen/experienced the same thing. There has to be some happy medium, I dunno.
