What's everyone's opinion about this "ability"

I tried it. It seemed to have some effect. But the occassional five yards here and there (maybe three times a game with the VA at 15, and they happen anyway) did not in the end seem to be more worthy than the increased chance of making a 30 yard pass from one of the other VAs.

I've never tried it this way, but it might work well when you first get VAs in the level 25-30s ish. Since some defenders could have low confidence and vision.
As for the end game its a waste.

Yup, a waste. One time I thought about doing a fun experiment by creating a QB with max Hard Count, Field General, Natural Leader, Clutch, and only using him as a QB2 on run plays. Problem is an opp DC could just archetype him and stuff the run, so meh. To disguise that fact though, I'd raise his passing stat to inflate his throwing meter and use him on creampuff opponents to build stats. At that point, DC's might not notice the difference (hell, many of them don't gameplan anyways!) Might be fun in casual leagues.
