The basic preset AIs should not be a mystery to the users, or vaguely described. This not only takes away the fun of using them, but prevents users from getting access to what could be a method of learning the game mechanics and something about coaching.
If the presets have some sort of AI layout, similar to what we use in regular coaching, let the user see it. Maybe even copy it to regular team AIs to tinker with.
If the presets, as I suspect, are not laid out like that firstly I would suggest converting them into a standard AI so that the above step could be used. If thats not feasible or desirable then at least lay out the flow charting of the preset AI's descion making so that players can see what those choices are and how they play out on the field so that they can relate them to future game choices and perhaps regular league coaching.
Even if the presets are nothing more than glorified basic settings, let us see the settings.
I think it might be useful in smoothing the GLB learning curve a tiny bit for some users if they had an example like that too look at.
ALTERNATIVE ONE
Create Regular League Presets that coaches could choose from that would do basically the same as the above.
ALTERNATIVE TWO
Add a tutorial to the AI pages which would include some of the strategies and tips and not just a how to click here and there.
Sorry for the alternatives, just came to mind as I typed the first idea out.
And yes Hatch, its because I suck so much that I suggest this. If only I were you, I would never have thought of it, like most things.
But it would still be a good idea.
