The Miami Hurricanes would kindly request that the media, fans, and players still refer to us as the Hurricanes. We started as the Hurricanes and are still the Hurricanes. The name 'Cyclone' is just for decoration purposes and has no bearing on this team. It is not a replacement name, nickname, or any kind of name. It is just 8 letters with absolutely no meaning.
