Probably not going to happen, but I might as well put this out there.
The Suggestion:
GLB should create a separate league, similar to pee wee, that is used for the sole purpose of creating experimental dots.
The Policy:
For many of GLB’s long-time and best builders, some of the most fun in the game comes from running crazy dots through the VPB and discussing whether or not a build would actually work in the game. But due to the extreme cost, long build process, and ever changing sim, most of those agents are hesitant to actually create those experimental builds. This is a detriment to the overall game play of GLB, because it prevents the meta-game from going away from cookie cutter builds. The more agents who build successful experimental dots, the more dots we should see who are created and built outside of the norm. By allowing agents to join an experimental league, it will bring something fresh and fun to long-time users and benefit GLB as a whole by improving the metagame.
Moreover, the experimental league could act as somewhat of a tester league to help the developers discover problems with the sim. Since many of these builds would likely be ultra-extreme in areas that aren’t usually tested, the game’s developers would have the opportunity to see the sim tested in new ways. GLB would essentially have a season long data set to test all aspects of the sim.
The Process:
The league(s) would be created very similar to the pee wee leagues except with dots at plateau instead of Day 0. Just like pee wee, dots would only have one season to play in the experimental league(s) and then would have to be retired. Dots created to play in the league(s) would only be able to be signed to teams in the experimental league(s). These dots would be created through use of a modified VPB that allows them to be fully built to plateau. I know that this is something that GLB has been hesitant to do, but limiting the dots to a one season life and to only playing in the experimental league would help to assuage some of GLB’s concerns with dots being built straight to plateau. Further, the cost of dots would be the pro-rated, per-season cost of a dot at that position that is boosted the maximum number of times. Thus, the cost and the one season limit combine to prevent GLB from losing any money on the deal.
The major concern I see there being with this idea is that some users might attempt to create non-experimental dots and win in the experimental league(s) with those dots. This is something that can be monitored and, if it appears that a problem has arisen, the admins and possibly a group of the more knowledgeable agents in the game (WL owners/coordinators) can discuss whether a team truly is experimenting or is exploiting the system. As always, any final decision will come down to the GLB administration. Any input from game agents would just be advisory. Teams/agents who the administration deems to be exploiting the experimental system can be given one season or more bans from playing in that specific league.
Input here would be much appreciated as I think this is an idea that has the potential to raise the interest of many long-time users who have grown somewhat bored with the game and frustrated with the many changes in the sim.

I will keep the above suggestion as it was when I originally proposed it. Below here I will place good suggestions from other agents.
