Probably been suggested many times before and on the NGTH list but I'm too lazy to look.
Basic premise is to make the attributes more meaningful; i.e. build-specific [QB, HB..etc], rather than the current setup where the same attribute slide-bar is applicable to every build.
For ease of conversation I'll just use a Deep Passer Archetype as an example.
Deep Passer -
Primary Attribute - Strength, Throwing, Vision
Secondary Attributes - Agility, Confidence, Stamina, Carrying
Player attributes available for adjustment during the initial player creation phase:
Agility [Minor], Stamina [Minor]].................[Jumping [None], Vision [Major]
Strength [Major], Blocking [None]].................[Speed [None], Stamina [Minor]
In what is essentially the make-up of your player [height and weight] and the bonuses that are included with this selection, you have an option to adjust the following:
2 primary [major] attributes
3 secondary [minor] attributes
3 tertiary [non-valued] attributes
Now it seems to me in this particular scenario that the least-valued attributes carry the most important weight.
If you want to give your QB a better start in the strength category, you also increase his ability to block more effectively...unless you're creating a rushing QB, not sure I see the significance in this increase.
My suggestion:
Option #1
Deep Passer -
Primary Attribute - Strength, Throwing, Vision, Confidence
Secondary Attributes - Agility, Speed, Stamina, Carrying
Option #2
Deep Passer -
Primary Attribute - Strength, Throwing, Vision
Secondary Attributes - Agility, Confidence, Stamina, Carrying, Speed
Player attributes available for adjustment during the initial player creation phase:
Agility [Minor], Stamina [Minor].................Throwing[Major], Vision [Major]
Strength [Major], Confidence[Minor]].................Speed [Minor], Stamina[Minor]
This is just one way, and one build, but the basis behind it carries across all the builds; "make then unique".
Which lineman need jumping? STOP's for diving tackles? Give it to them.
Punter and kicker without punting and kicking?
So on and so on.
Let the discussions begin.....or not.
