Sorry if this has already been suggested.
People should have the ability to, upon retirement of a designated "free player," switch this tag to an already existing player. This would allow individuals who only have enough enough money/flex to finance a player for half of his career to build additional players.
For example, I now have only about 6,000 flex points left, which is not enough to boost and equip most positions for an entire career. I think it would be nice if I could create a player on my own expense, and then when my free player retires be able to switch this tag to the newer player.
This would both increase the player market and increase flex expenditures.
i.e. Right now, those 6,000 flex points on my account will never be spent. In terms of money, it seems like it would be a natural tendency for people to more inclined to purchase flex points when they are running dangerously low. In my current situation I would never dream of buying new flex but if this suggestion were implemented in a few seasons when my the number started to look smaller and smaller I would probably buy some.
One possible problem with this is people could abuse the system in order to get "free players" that are at a non-high demand situation (creating a HB then later designating it as free). This doesn't seem like that big of a problem, however.
