Owners and GMs really need an alert notifying them of contracts that will be expiring. Perhaps a summary alert on day 36 listing the players whose contract will be up on day 40.

Yeah, I wouldn't want an alert for each contract. That would get pretty spammy.
Just a summary for each team, sent out to the owner and GMs listing the players. It would be nice if the alert had links to both the contract summary page for the related team and each player's renegotiation page but that would just be icing. Something like:
Title: Expiring contracts for [TEAM NAME]
Body:
[TEAM'S CONTRACTS LINK]
[PLAYER NAME (linked)] [PLAYER POSITION] [AGENT (linked)] [PLAYER'S RENEGOTIATE LINK]
.
.
.
Have the player list sorted by position.
