Pretty much what the titles say, you should be able to change team tactics even when your playing a game but just don't let the new tactics fire until the next game. Maybe when you press update a little alert pops up and says," These new changes will not take effect until your next game, are you sure you want to update?" Or something along those lines.

I've found playing on demand, sometimes your changes won't take effect soon enough.
Maybe an adjustment to the next hour would be better for us all. Sometimes I can schedule a game 1 hr and 2 minutes before had and I've had games not follow the new AI in place. It uses the default.
The problem is a game can be played within the hour before instead of on the hour every hour.
